Windows operating system created by microsoft in mid 10980's. Over the years there have been many different versions of windows. But the most popular ones are Windows 7(released in 2009), Windows Vista (released in 2007) and Windows XP(released in 2001) .
Windows is the multipurpose and multitasking operating system. It means that you can log in as as a different user name to acess your computer.
Introduction to desktop: The screen you can see on the computer home page is called a desktop. Desktop is divided in to three parts.
1. Background
2. Icons
3. Taskbar
Icons: Any file or folders are placed on the desktop are known as a icon. Icons are furtherly divided in to two parts system icons and user icons.
System icons are by default created on the desktop. These icons delat with computer system.
Such as my computer, mydocuments and recycle bin.
User icon are created by user for its benifits. It can be any file or folder.
Taskbar: It is rectangle box situated at the bottom of the desktop. It can be placed any four size of the desktop but it can not be placed middle of the desktop.
Taskbar is divided in to three parts start button, windows which are open and system tray.
Start button : Start button is located at extreme left of the taskbar. It has a wondows logo on it. With the help of start button you access control panel, programs and search button.
Windows open: You can view the windows which are open by seeing the taskbar.
System tray: Sytem tray is at the extreme right position of the taskbar. As soon as computer starts applications in sytem tray starts working. You dont need to do anything to start them.
